Job Posting - Bilingual Customer Service Specialist

Location: Othello

Status: Part-time

Hours of Work: 15 hours/week

Salary Range: Starts at $17.53/hour (2020 Salary Schedule - CSS classification)

Job Summary:

Our Othello team member will be a dynamic customer-focused individual with the desire to engage library visitors of all ages in the discovery of great books; plan and present storytimes; provide outreach services in the community for childcare facilities and other targeted groups; facilitate in-branch activities with groups of children; represent the library at events; and present information about services and programs. This book enthusiast will also support customers using computers and personal devices in the library.

Minimum Qualifications:

We are currently seeking an energetic, customer service orientated individual with the following qualifications:

• Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college, plus two years of library (or customer service) experience, including public contact  
• Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience
• Must also be able to obtain a valid Washington State driver’s license
• Bilingual - English/Spanish

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous outreach experience, including experience working with organizations serving children and their families, such as Head Start and public/private schools
• Knowledge of technological devices (such as eReaders) and their application
