John Jensen: Washington in Wartime
Join us as historian John Jensen presents "Washington in Wartime."
Although Washington State numbered only 1.7 million at the war’s outset, it supplied crucial resources in millions of tons of food and raw materials and thousands of airplanes, tanks and ships. No state was more profoundly affected economically by the introduction and expansion of war industries. Through rarely heard stories and anecdotes as well as seldom seen film clips, radio broadcasts and rarely viewed photographs, those early days of the war are vividly captured in detail of an all-encompassing conflagration and the exploits of a state that contributed more per capita to the war effort than any other.
