New and Intriguing Teen Books

A list by Kate, Managing Librarian

Many of my favorite authors and some exciting new writers are putting books out this fall that I can't wait to get my hands on!

Books

With multiple high-profile reviews and killer cover art, Adeyemi is making waves in the world of YA lit with her debut novel.

Who doesn't want to learn more about Leah, the secretive friend of Simon (of "Simon vs. the Homosapien Agenda" fame)?

Holy hot topics, Batman, better strap on your seatbelt for this one! Also a box of tissues.

I was thouroughly impressed with the heart and nuance of "If I Ever Get Out of Here," and "Give Me Some Truth" looks like a worthy followup.

Jane has absolutely everything I love in a herione: zombie fighting skills, sarcasm, and excellent friendships (and yes, a love interest).

Rumor has already started about this being shortlisted for the Printz. Plus, what a great title!

I'm liking the trend of having sequels be from the perspective of a different character from the first book, and Lee promises just as much humor and intrigue as her first novel.

In the sequel to "Every Day," we find out that there are others like A. Levithan plays with identity, love and the search for self in unexpected and wonderful ways, and I'm glad A and company get further adventures.

Priest's other novels are full of wit, surprising turns and excellent characters, and it's the perfect time of year to snuggle up with a ghost story.

The sequel to "Strange the Dreamer;" Taylor 's writing is gorgeous, her romances divine, and her hero is a librarian. SOLD.

What I'm anticipating: gorgeous language you can dive into for days and a thoughtful story about families and destiny.
