In the Mood for Food?

In the Mood for Food?

A list by Erin, Operations Director

Sometimes it seems like life revolves around food. My youngest son is always hungry, and, if we venture out somewhere without a snack bag in tow, I'm going to regret it. My oldest son eats pretty well and at times has two breakfasts but is a skinny kid. My husband is a bit of a picky eater refusing to eat any white condiments and very few fruits and veggies. He's the kind of guy that always orders the same thing at each restaurant we go to.

On the other hand, I am the kind of person that likes most things and will try anything. I even put extra spinach in my plant-based protein shake each morning. Once while working here at the library I ate a dried grasshopper (probably won't be doing that again, though). I have a serious sweet tooth and love me some cookie dough. Did you know if it's not baked, it doesn't have any calories?

Books

There are several books in this series by author Laura Numeroff in case you don't like cookies.

This is a house favorite. My youngest son could challenge this caterpillar to an eating contest any day (minus the pickle).

I'm sure you've heard of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," but have you heard of this sequel?

Food can be fun and funny!

PBJ is a food my boys can eat any time of day. Lucky for us, there are no food allergies in the house!

After you read "Green Eggs and Ham" you can cook them! Let me know if your kids eat them.
