Fresh Outta Quarantine

A list by Celina, HR Director

One of the great things to come out of 2020-2021 was my increased reading for fun. When the daily news on COVID numbers became too overwhelming and the social media feeds went sideways, I turned to (mostly) fiction to escape. Here are some of my recent favorites, including some that have been around for a few years that I finally got a chance to enjoy. Add them to your reading list!

Books

Why did I wait so long to read this? With rumors of a pending movie, I had to read the book. And what a story! I'd venture to guess that #thebookwasbetter.

I love period fiction, and once again I found myself learning a little history along the way. This book opened me up to the author, who has many other great titles!

Fall for it! This first in the two book series is such a fun read. If you're like me, pick a Saturday and just read it cover to cover in one day. Then check out "The Happy Ever After Playlist," and read it the next weekend.

I'm here for the light romance! Read the book, then create the playlist on your favorite streaming music account.

I've been following Yung Pueblo on Instagram. If you're a Brene Brown fan and like introspection and self-reflection, check this book out.

OK, if you're looking for a warm fuzzy, probably not your book; however, I learned a lot about the Dust Bowl era. This is a book is about overcoming great obstacles, and it lends some perspective to our current state.

Any Matthew McConaughey fans out there? Download this audiobook in Libby and be prepared for some amazing storytelling read by the author himself. Alright, alright, alright.

This book was published back in 2012, and I finally got around to reading it after discovering the author. What an amazing story of two young women with similar pasts.
