How To Apply
Mid-Columbia Libraries employs over 120 staff throughout our 12 branches, Bookmobile and adminstrative offices. We recruit talent year-round as positions become available within our library system.
1. Review the Job Posting and Description
We accept application materials for open positions posted on our website. Be sure to review the job posting for the required application materials as there may be additional materials requested beyond those outlined below.
2. Employment Application
A completed employment application is required for each position. If you would like to apply for more than one posted position, please submit separate application materials for each position. The Applicant Disclosure Form, included within the application document, is a required part of your employment application. Successful completion of a background inquiry is a condition of employment with Mid-Columbia Libraries.
The application is in a fill-form PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. The reader is free and can be downloaded from the Adobe Systems website.
A resume is required for most positions. A resume will not substitute for a completed employment application.
4. Cover Letter
A cover letter is recommended with each application. Cover letters will be accepted as a Word (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) file.
5. Voluntary EEO Self Identification Form
Submission of this form is voluntary. This form is used to collect demographic/race/ethinicity information, which is used for certain governmental record keeping and reporting requirements.
6. Substitute Supplemental Questionnaire
This form is required only if you are applying for a Substitute position.
7. Submitting your Materials
Application materials can be mailed to Human Resources, ATTN: (Job Title), Mid-Columbia Libraries, 405 S. Dayton, Kennewick , WA 99336. Electronic submissions are also accepted and should be sent to email@example.com. To ensure timely processing of your application, include the specific job title and branch on your application materials. Application materials must be received by 5:00 pm on the closing date of the position unless otherwise stated in the job posting.
8. Next Steps
If you are considered for a position, you will be contacted via telephone and/or e-mail within two weeks of the application review date or deadline. Otherwise, due to the high volume of applications we receive, you may not hear from us.
