Remodel Upgrades
Mid-Columbia Libraries has joined with the City of Pasco to remodel the Pasco Library! The library’s existing infrastructure is being upgraded to accommodate more computers and to meet customer demand. The remodel will also include a new server room, and will double the library’s number of public internet access computers, from 17 to a total of 34. Like all Mid-Columbia Libraries, the Pasco Library will continue to provide high-speed wireless internet access, and will gain a new “Wi-Fi zone” seating area for wireless internet users.
The library will have new energy-efficient windows, paint, furniture, interior design, and artwork by local artists. Additional self-check-out terminals will improve customer convenience and privacy.
Arculus is the design firm for the project, and G2 Construction is the contractor.
Art
The library will reopen with two new pieces of art. The art on the pillars and archway into the children’s area is by local artist Lisa Day. The colorful canvas wall-hanging behind the new customer service desk is by local artist Consuelo Soto Murphy.
