Warm Up with Cool Books Dec.29-31
Regional Service Corps - AmeriCorps presents the 5th annual “Warm Up with Cool Books” events!
Join us this Winter Break as we splash into books, create tropical crafts, and participate in seaside-themed activities.
The events will be held at the Keewaydin Park, Kennewick, Pasco, and West Richland branches of Mid-Columbia Libraries.
The event also will be held at the Richland Public Library.
December 29, 30, and 31
Two sessions per day: 12:30 - 2:00 pm and 2:15 - 3:45 pm

In 2008, Warm Up with Cool Books served over 500 youth. Regional Service Corps’ main goal for this project is to improve children’s attitudes towards literacy by creating a fun learning environment that reaches as many kids as possible. Children will be engaged in splash-worthy books, create tropical crafts, meet exciting guest speakers, and enjoy seaside-themed activities. The events are geared towards children in grades K-5, although any grade is welcome, and no child will be turned away. Families are encouraged to participate with their children as well. Each library will showcase a different and exciting array of activities in a safe, positive, and interactive learning environment.
Regional Service Corps is a part of AmeriCorps: a network of local, state, and national service programs that unite more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to help make our country safer, smarter, and healthier. AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nations. The Corporation also oversees Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America. Together these programs engage more than 1.5 million Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service each year.
