What is Ask a Librarian?
Ask a Librarian is a service that lets you ask questions and get answers from live reference staff in real time over the Internet. Most questions can be answered in 10-15 minutes, but some may take more time.
What kinds of questions can I ask?
Factual questions that can be answered with dictionaries, encyclopedias, or reliable Web sites are best suited to the "chat with a Librarian" service. If the Virtual Librarians cannot answer your questions quickly using online sources, they may refer you to your local library's telephone, e-mail, or in-library reference services. We can also provide you with basic information about your local library. Librarians cannot provide medical or legal advice.
How to ask a question:
You can ask questions in a live chat with a reference librarian, by email, or by calling (509) 783-7878.
My Account/Materials by e-mail:
If you have a question concerning your account, or if you wish to request a title, please include your full name, library card number, and your registered library branch. Please be as specific as possible in your request.
