Cool Desert Nights: Resources & Reading List

MID-COLUMBIA LIBRARIES HAS RESOURCES FOR CAR ENTHUSIASTS AND NOVICES

In time for Tri-Cities’ annual Cool Desert Nights weekend, Mid-Columbia Libraries has launched helpful, premium-content car resources on our website.

Do-It-Yourself-ers looking to repair their cars or tinker under their hoods can access extensive online auto repair manuals from the Chilton Library via our website.  The database provides exclusive photographs, diagnostics designed by instructors, step-by-step repair procedures, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, recalls, and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for automobiles and light trucks in one easy-to-use source.  Mid-Columbia Libraries also provides access to EBSCO host’s online Auto Repair Reference Center, which provides repair procedures, service bulletins and recalls, wiring diagrams, specifications, and maintenance intervals.  Both resources can be found at midcolumbialibraries.org > Research Tools > Auto Repair.

Aimed at enthusiasts and novices alike, Mid-Columbia Libraries also has developed a list of recommended reading for car lovers.  The annotated list of titles includes everything from car guides to beloved TV cars to the history of NASCAR, road trips, and Route 66.  The list is located at midcolumbialibraries.org > Books & Materials > Automotive.  Library customers can reserve books online to pick up at their local branches.
