Computer Use

The Mid-Columbia Library System shall provide fair and equitable use of library computers.

Regulations

1. In order to provide fair and equitable use of library computers and their information resources, the library may impose maximum limits on how long persons may use computers in a session or in a day. 

2. Time limits may vary from branch library to branch library depending on the demand for library computers.

3. Computer use privileges are suspended when a patron has unpaid fines, fees or replacement costs charged to their library card account in the amount of $10.00 or more.  When the amount due falls below $10.00 computer use privileges will be restored.

4. The library shall set prices for printing in black and white and in color.

5. A maximum of two (2) free printed pages each day may be given to patrons when working on a public computer.  Library Staff, responding to an Information question, may give patrons up to five (5) free photocopies or printed pages.

6. Each branch library shall post computer usage and printing rules in a prominent place in the library.
