Bookmobile Design Competition
Mid-Columbia Libraries celebrates 65 years with Bookmobile Design Competition
Winner gets art on display for years around Mid-Columbia and Kindle HD Fire courtesy of Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries
What started out as a dream in the 1940s to provide books to rural residents turned into a rolling, moving, literary reality: Mid-Columbia Libraries’ Bookmobile. In the 65 years since the Bookmobile started serving readers, Mid-Columbia Libraries has grown to include 12 branches.
To celebrate, Mid-Columbia Libraries is excited to announce a Bookmobile Design Competition. The winning design will grace the 11x16 foot sides of the library’s Bookmobile.
Mid-Columbia Libraries will compile the top designs entries and a panel of judges will conduct a review of the entries to select a winner.
One talented artist will take home a Kindle Fire HD tablet and have their artwork on display in our region for years to come. The Kindle is courtesy of Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries.
“We want to give our Bookmobile a fresh look,” MCL Marketing Specialist Stefan Walz said. “We decided to give our customers a chance to design the art that we use. That way, we can see the library from our customer’s perspective.”
The contest is open to all Mid-Columbia Libraries customers.
