Hidden Treasures for Math Help
The most common response I get from a child or parent when I ask, “What are you working on in school right now?” is “MATH!” Even though we are coming up on Summer Reading time, young customers may want help on honing and keeping up with their math skills along with reading skills.
This month I am presenting three places to enter the webpage for math help.
1. My favorite place to look for math help is in eLibrary Elementary. You can enter it through the MCL webpage under RESEARCH TOOLS. On the left side panel, at the bottom, click ALL OF THE ABOVE IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. Select Electric Library Elementary. Once in eLibrary, on the upper blue banner, click Topics. Then, select Math. You will find the following topics with 80+ sub topics: Pre-kindergarten , Math Basics , Tutorials & Practice , Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Topics, Algebra, Using Data, Trigonometry, Calculus.
Elibrary can also be found under FOR KIDS (Orange Tab). Look on the left side panel under HOMEWORK HELP.

2. To find safe internet math sites for children, look under FOR KIDS (Orange Tab). Scroll down past TumbleBook Library in the middle panel to find Great Websites for Kids. Click on that link to get to the topics list. Next, click on Mathematics. There is help for parents and students preschool to middle school age.

3. Learning Express Library has practice skills for 4th grade level and above. To find it, click RESEARCH TOOLS on the orange bar. On the left panel, you can click Careers, Employment & Test Preparation or ALL OF THE ABOVE IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. It is also found in the orange tab selection FOR TEENS, on left panel HOMEWORK HELP and then under Test Preparation - Learning Express Library.

Remember to look at each place three times. You can count looking at these places as a training experience for your personal file and use this in your monthly report under Strategic Goals:
Young children (birth through age five) will have the resources and opportunities they need to start school ready to learn.
Adults will have the resources they need to explore topics of personal interest and continue to learn throughout their lives.
Children and teens will have the resources they need to succeed in school.
